In accordance with the principles, values, vision and mission of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, the Human Resource Department supports  the organization as a whole.  Human Resources assists MBQ in meeting its goals through its most valuable resource – it’s people – enabling them to better serve our community and clients.

 

Functions & Activities

  • Recruitment of qualified individuals from the community and elsewhere to fill needs within the organization
  • Retention of valuable employees
  • Training, development and education to promote individual success for each employee.  This will ultimately increase overall value to the organization
  • Provide and promote a safe and healthy working environment for MBQ employees
  • Provide resources, policies, and procedures pertaining to Human Resources
  • Sustain the infrastructure of MBQ that effectively provides consistency of service

Recruitment

The Human Resources staff facilitate the recruitment of qualified individuals for positions within MBQ Administration.  Individuals of Aboriginal Ancestry are given preference in all competitions. Candidates must submit a cover letter and resume for available positions. Selected candidates will compete in an interview process, which may include skills tests such as: computer use, presentations or other as deemed necessary, and are evaluated by a rating system.
