The Department of Fisheries and Oceans will be out on the Bay of Quinte this week (June 2 – 6, 2025) to sample for invasive species. The team will mainly be sampling within Muscote Bay looking for Grass Carp and Tench. The crew will be setting gill nets for up to an hour and then fishing them. Boat electrofishing will be taking place along the shorelines in and around Grape Island. On June 4th, the field crew will be also be supporting Quinte Conservation in learning the techniques they use to sample waters for Invasive species.
