Drive With Caution – Blowing Snow
Please drive with caution! Our roads department is out in full force battling drifting snow caused by current high winds, but you may still encounter snow covered roads in your travels. Please be assured our plow drivers are doing all they can to keep everyone safe....

Sand and Salt Available to the Community
Please be advised that sand and salt is available to community members Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.. It can be picked up from the Roads Depot at 38 Lower Slash Road.

Background
The Roads Department ensures the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all MBQ road networks on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Overview
The Roads Department is responsible for maintaining 12.76 km of gravel, 27.66 km of paved and 39.57 km of surface treated roads.
MBQ’s total road network equates 79.99 km
The Roads Department also completes maintenance on 9 bridge structures throughout the Territory.
Operation and maintenance include:
- Repair and/or replace road signs, repair guide rails, dust control
- Complete new culvert installations
- Apply gravel to roads and shoulders as required
- Ditching
- Snow plowing in the winter season
- Apply sand and salt to roads
- Minor road reconstruction, grading, clean bridges
- Repair soft spots
