It is with great pleasure that we announce the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Sherry Maracle.
Please see Sherry’s introduction below:
Shé:kon Sewakwé:kon,
It is with immense gratitude that I express my enthusiasm to be joining the team at Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (MBQ) as the next Chief Administrative Officer.
I am a member and resident of Tyendinaga, a Mohawk woman, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and auntie. My passion involves ensuring the inclusion and integrity of Indigenous cultural practices. I join the team with a multitude of experiences in management and leadership roles within the Federal Public Service, and more recently as Manager, Reaching Home, Indigenous Homelessness Strategy within the City of Toronto. The positions I previously held were of Indigenous National and Regional scope, affording me with practical knowledge, understanding and experiences with management teams, collaborating with Indigenous communities, organizations, government departments and agencies.
I am a firm believer in ensuring and integrating a dynamic “Client Centered” approach at MBQ administration. A Client Centered pivot soundly relying on collaborative efforts that are solutions focused will be a priority. In addition, efforts will be made to maintain or establish effective processes. These processes will ensure MBQ membership receives the programs and services they deserve in the most efficient way.
I am very much looking forward to working with my colleagues at MBQ as we venture forward together in the spirit of inclusion and community.
Nyá:wen,
Sherry Maracle, BA, MPA
Chief Administrative Officer
Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte
