UPDATE: All Roads Plowed

UPDATE: Almost all Roads Now Passable
Please note that from 483 Beach Road to the corner of Ridge Road remains impassable. The roads crew is taking a break to enjoy Christmas dinner with their families and will regroup to hopefully finish the job overnight. Please stay safe if you're on the roads.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Roads Closed in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory
Please note all roads within Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory are now CLOSED. Snow plow operations are suspended temporarily. Crews will be responding to emergency situations only at this time.
Background
The Roads Department ensures the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all MBQ road networks on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Overview
The Roads Department is responsible for maintaining 12.76 km of gravel, 27.66 km of paved and 39.57 km of surface treated roads.
MBQ’s total road network equates 79.99 km
The Roads Department also completes maintenance on 9 bridge structures throughout the Territory.
Operation and maintenance include:
- Repair and/or replace road signs, repair guide rails, dust control
- Complete new culvert installations
- Apply gravel to roads and shoulders as required
- Ditching
- Snow plowing in the winter season
- Apply sand and salt to roads
- Minor road reconstruction, grading, clean bridges
- Repair soft spots
