MBQ Long Term Care, a 128-bed long-term care home, is an exciting new project that will be dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents in partnership with UniversalCare Canada Inc., our family members, valued employees, and community partners. Residents will be admitted in the Summer of 2026.

Culinary Services Manager

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
– Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors all operational and quality improvement dietary activities.
– Oversees and supports all human resource related functions for the dietary department.
– Direct management of all employees in the dietary department.
– Manages and monitors dietary budgets, envelopes and strategic dietary fiscal plans.
– Ensures quality risk management activities are implemented and maintained.
– Ensures compliance with organizational standards, the collective agreement, as applicable and all relevant regulations, and/or legislative requirements and strategic initiatives.
– Responds promptly to address dietary concerns of residents and family members, mediates appropriate responses to those concerns and implements action plans.
– Monitors daily food preparation to ensure the individual dietary needs of the residents are met.
– Participates in multi-disciplinary care conferences, the strategic planning process, committees and other meetings, maintains an organized system of records management.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– Graduate of an accredited Food Service Supervision and Nutrition Management Program.
– Current registration and a member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or a Registered Dietitian.
– 2 years working experience in a supervisor capacity in dietary services, preferably in the long-term care sector would be considered an asset.
– Sound knowledge of therapeutic diets and current nutritional standards relating to the geriatric population.
– Sound knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act 2021, Ontario Regulations 246/10.
– Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities.
– Proficiency with computerized documentation systems.
-Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.

Cook (Part-Time)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
– Supports with the implementation and maintenance of quality risk management activities and conducts audits.
– Supports effective and efficient procurement and supply control procedures, completes all dietary documentation.
– Assists with meal service, as required, ensuring the individual nutritional needs of all residents are met.
– Follows the plan of care, observes and reports any substantial findings, and or changes, as required.
– Assists in maintaining and cleaning dietary areas and equipment, reports equipment concerns.
– Prepares and produces all meals, snacks, beverages and catering services.
– Ensures that all meals, snacks and beverages for meals and catering services are served in an appetizing way and in accordance with the plan of care for each resident to ensure a pleasurable dinning experience.
– Assists in menu planning, recipe development and standardization to support pleasurable dining for all residents.
– Communicates all menu changes , monitors quality of supplies received and advises Departmental Manager of any concerns, makes recommendations for corrective action.
– Participates as a member for assigned committees, attends meetings and educations sessions.
– Communicates with related Long-term care Health Agencies to promote coordination and/or planning long-term care services.
– Ensures compliance with organizational standards, the collective agreement, as applicable and all relevant regulations, and/or legislative requirements and strategic initiatives.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– A Red Seal designation or culinary management diploma or certificate from an accredited college or university and/or cooking experience and knowledge relevant to the position.
– Completion of Food Handling Certificate.
– Knowledge of culinary equipment and recipes, best practices, and procedures.
– Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow instructions in English.
– General knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide and nutritional requirements pertaining to long-term care.
– Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when assisting residents, family members, and visitors.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities.
– Proficiency with computerized documentation systems. -Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.
