The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte have declared a Significant Weather Event as of 3 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2025. This is due to weather warnings issued by Environment Canada and other reports indicating the potential for significant amounts of freezing rain this afternoon into Monday morning.
During the significant weather event, the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte are advising motorists and residents to use extra caution as our Roads Department may not be able to meet its maintenance standards for roads and sidewalks due to the significant precipitation and conditions expected. The declaration will not change how or when MBQ performs its winter maintenance operations, however, it may take our crews longer than usual to complete plowing and sanding.
